He Knew What was at Stake.

ESPN Recap - Washington Capitals vs. Tampa Bay Lighting

On the day that ovechkin895.blogspot.com went live Alexander Ovechkin scored 2 goals. The goals were Ovechkin's 52nd and 53rd of the season. The two goals assured Ovechkin of having his second highest single season goal total of his short career. Clearly he know that the day of the creation of this website needed to be marked with his magnificence.

Ovechkin and the Capitals have 6 games left this season, including a Sunday April 5th afternoon tilt on NBC. Washington has clinched their division but are in a close race (just 1 point ahead) with New Jersey for the 2nd playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. The 3rd seed has a good chance of facing Sid the Kid in the round one, instead of the struggling mix of the Rangers, Canadians or Panthers. This probably means Ovechkin will see lots of ice time down the stretch.
