Sometime in early March 2009 a bet was placed between two good friends. The bet involved Alex Ovechkin, the right winger of the NHL's Washington Capitals.
The bet was this: Will Alex Ovechkin break Wayne Gretzky's career goals record of 894 goals?
The bet was placed by Patrick Bohn of Ithaca, NY in favor of Ovechkin eventually breaking Gretzky's record. The bet was accepted by Ryan Vooris, also of Ithaca, who gave Patrick 12-1 odds on his $100 bet.
This site will chronicle the evolution of said bet. It is not a gambling site.
"I will be the greatest goal scorer in the history of hockey. Do you know my name?"
